Shelia Warren Williams

Shelia Warren Williams was born on January 23, 1953, to the late Samuel Windell Warren, Sr. and Rebbie Turner Warren. She peacefully departed this life and entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in her home in Chesapeake, VA while surrounded by family and covered in loved. Shelia was born in Courtland, VA and raised in Portsmouth, VA. She is a proud 1971 graduate of I.C. Norcom High School and later furthered her education by earning an Associate Degree from Tidewater Community College. On March 29, 1975, Shelia married the love of her life, Charles Earnest Williams, Jr. From this loving union, they were blessed with one daughter. Shelia faithfully served the children of Portsmouth Public Schools as a paraprofessional for 30 years. During her career, she worked with Kindergarten, Pre-Kindergarten, and Special Education students, touching countless young lives with her patience, kindness, and care. After retiring from the school system, she began a second career as an Order Entry Operator for QVC, where she worked until her final retirement. Shelia was a faithful and devoted member of Trinity Faith Diamond for 39 years, spanning three generations of ministry. Her journey at Trinity began under the leadership of Pastor O.L. Cromwell, Sr., grew under the leadership of Bishop O.L. Cromwell, II, and continued under the teaching of Pastor O.L. Cromwell, III. During her years of service, Shelia was a member of the choir, volunteered weekly at the Faith Diamond Christian Academy, and faithfully served on the Pastor’s Aid. Shelia was known for her generous heart and loving spirit. She never hesitated to help family, friends, or anyone in need. Whether it was giving to those in need, offering encouragement, or sharing her famous coconut pies and homemade rolls, Shelia gave with love and made people feel truly cared for. Shelia loved her family and loved music. Her favorite artists were Whitney Houston and Adrienne Warren. On road trips to visit family, Shelia and her daughter, Tanisha, sang for hours up and down the East Coast. She also enjoyed attending concerts with her sister, daughter, and goddaughter. However, above all, Shelia loved the Lord. Shelia and her late husband faithfully read Psalm 91 and completed their daily devotions together every morning. After her husband’s passing, Shelia continued her daily devotions faithfully with her grand-dog by her side. Cherishing her memory are her daughter, Tanisha Lynn Williams of Chesapeake; her twin sister, Lelia Richardson of Chesapeake; her brother, Pastor Samuel Warren, Jr. (Dr. Andrea) of Chesapeake; her goddaughter and niece, Keisha Richardson-Warren of Portsmouth; and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Shelia was also preceded in death by her beloved grand-dog, Peaches, whom she loved dearly.
