Marvin Terrell I

Portsmouth-God in his infinite wisdom saw fit to call his child Marvin Curtis Terrell I, 50, of the 1400 block of Quiet Court, home on October 1st 2009. Marvin was the fourth of five children born on April 27th, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Mr.& Mrs. Willie & Sadie Terrell. As a child he grew up between Saint Mary’s County, Maryland and Portsmouth, Virginia. Marvin was educated in the Portsmouth Public School System, where he met his wife, Lynette O. Goodwyn. From that union three children were born; Lynette M. Terrell-Lucas, Marvin C. Terrell II, and Michael C. Terrell. Marvin and Lynette lived together in holy matrimony for 24 years. Being an outdoors man, he was inclined to own his own lawn care service. To many he was known as Mister Fix It, a go to guy with an endless supply of advice and stories. His passions were working with his hands, fishing and motor sports. He was the acting President for a local motorcycle club named “Street Toys”. Marvin leaves to honor and cherish his memories his lovely wife, Lynette G. Terrell; devoted children, Lynette M. Terrell-Lucas (Quincy) of Portsmouth, Marvin C. Terrell II of Portsmouth, and Michael C. Terrell also of Portsmouth, cherished granddaughter; Gabrielle Lucas of Portsmouth, sisters; Angela Fenwick (Marshall) of Saint Mary’s County, Maryland and Vinnie Terrell of Chesapeake; brother Bryan Terrell (Joanna) of Portsmouth; two Aunts; Eva Butler and Kathryn Butler of Saint Mary’s County, Maryland; father and mother in-law, Gideon & Emma Goodwyn, Sr. of Portsmouth; brother and sister in-laws, Cassandra Riggins (Calvin) of Portsmouth, Gideon Goodwyn Jr.(Cassandra) of Virginia Beach, Elanzer Boone (Michael) of Portsmouth, Mason Goodwyn (Celene) of Leesburg and Jason Goodwyn (Keecha) of Portsmouth. He will also be missed by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and friends and by all others who knew him. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 2 pm until 8 pm at J T Fisher Funeral Services, 1080 N George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake. The family will be present from 6 pm until 8 pm. A life celebration service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Fellowship United Church of Christ, 1402 Gust Lane, Chesapeake where the pastor is Rev.
