Margaret Johnson

Mother Margaret Battle Johnson, 79 of Chesapeake, was summoned by Jehovah on the morning of August 9, 2018. She was born to the late Emmett Hedgepeth and the late Rosa Battle Shepherd-Davis; as well as being reared by the late Dr. Stanley D. Shepherd, Sr. She was predeceased by her son, Johnny B. Johnson, Jr. and her beloved sister, Gail Shepherd-Vaughn. She married Johnny B. Johnson, Sr. not once but twice, coupled with his two children Johnny B. Johnson, Jr. and Patricia Renee Johnson. Out of their union came Erica C. Johnson Blow. In 1992, God gave Mother Johnson another daughter, Angela E. Fair. Margaret was a proud graduate of the class of 1957 from I.C. Norcom High School and furthered her education at the New York City Community College; where she earned her Associates Degree in Accounting. Above being skilled in finances, Mother Johnson was gifted as a seamstress, child care provider, and mental health case manager. Mother Johnson came to know Christ as her personal Lord and Savior in 1978 while attending Royer Street Church of God in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She later relocated to Virginia in 1986 and later joined the United Full God Revival on Broad Street where Pastor Olivia Sharp was Pastor. She has continued in the faith and served with her Now Apostle Sharp, Apostle Dallas, and her immediate pastor, Sr. Pastor Janet B. Ellis. She has been a devoted member for over 30 years. She counted up the cost and served God well. In 2011, she remarried Johnny Johnson and moved back to Colorado Springs. All the while, being loyal to her Christian principles and way of living; while attending Tower of Faith and deliverance Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Dr. Josiah Martin and Supervisor Martin. After encountering several afflictions, Mother returned home in 2014. She leaves to celebrate and carry on her legacy her husband; Johnny B. Johnson, Sr.; her daughters: Patricia Johnson, Erica C. Johnson-Blow (Lorenzo), and Angela E. Fair (Donald); her grandchildren: Anthony, Keith, Allen, Jory, Devon, Vontrell (Shaughnessy), and Alex (Jessica). In addition, her great grands: Keith Jr., Isaiah, Allen Jr. London, and Alexandria. She also leaves her sister Velma Davis and her brother Stanley D. Shepherd, Jr. (Marie). Moreover, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, Church family, a special Aunt Cora Cooper and a very dear and special caretaker Nurse Alison Goodman.
