Linda Marie Nicholson

Elder Linda Marie Nicholson, age 77, peacefully entered eternal rest on August 14, 2026, at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. Affectionately known as “Lynn,” she was the beloved oldest of six daughters born to Roosevelt and Evelyn Hall. Linda was a woman whose life was defined by faith, love, service, and devotion to her family and to God. From an early age, she accepted Christ and dedicated her life to walking in His grace and sharing His Word. For more than 50 years, she was a faithful pillar of Holy Light Church of Deliverance, where she served the Lord and others with a humble and willing heart. Her years of devoted service included serving as an Elder, Prayer Warrior, Ministry Board Member, and Chair of the Crusade Ministry. She poured her heart into nurturing others as a Sunday School Teacher, Bible Instructor at Holy Light College of the Bible (HLCB), and HLCB Alumni President. She also served as Assistant President of Public Relations, Recording Secretary, and a member of the Nurses Unit. Whether teaching, praying, serving, or preparing meals for the Bishop through Food Services, Linda gave of herself with joy, excellence, humility, and love. Above all, Linda cherished her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Roosevelt and Evelyn Hall, and her dear sister, Janet Jenkins. Her rich legacy of love continues through her devoted daughter, Traci Lynnette Neville; her cherished grandson, Reginald Morrice Neville; and her precious great-granddaughter, Sanai Reya Neville. She will be deeply missed by her loving sisters, Patricia A. Chambers, Vanessa D. Jones, Evelyn D. Callie, and Donna Y. Eubanks (Fred); her brother-in-law, Tagore Jenkins (Geraldine); along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended church family, and dear friends whose lives she touched. Linda’s life was a beautiful testimony of faithfulness and love. She gave generously of her time, her wisdom, her prayers, and her heart. Those who knew and loved her will forever carry the warmth of her presence, the strength of her faith, and the love she so freely shared. Though she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing that she has finished her earthly journey and has gone home to be with the Lord. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
