Evangelist Missionary Barbara Jean Cutler was born in Portsmouth, VA on December 18, 1943 to Flossie and Thead Chapman. She graduated from I.C. Norcom High School, February 1963. God anointed Evangelist Missionary Barbara Jean Cutler with various gifts and talents: songstress, piano player, teacher, hairdresser, seamstress, upholsterer and carpenter. On November 26, 1966 she married her beloved husband Pastor Emeritus Theodore T. Cutler, Sr. To this union 3 sons were born: Theodore, Jr., Dominic and Terence. And they raised her niece Petrina as their daughter. Evangelist Missionary Barbara Jean Cutler committed her life to the Lord at an early age. She was a faithful member of St. James Church of God In Christ and the Portsmouth District VA Second Jurisdiction. She was the First Lady of St. James Church of God In Christ for 39 years where she held many positions: President of the Young Adult Choir, Senior Choir Director, President of the Sewing Circle, President of the Missionary Circle, Y.W.C.C. Teacher, Vacation Bible School Art and Craft Instructor, Sponsor of the Back to School Supplies Giveaway, Home and Foreign Mission Teacher and 4th Sunday Rally Day Chair Lady. In the VA Second Jurisdiction she was the former President of the Portsmouth District Choir and Sewing Circle. She was the President of the Minister and Deacon Wives. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 56 years, Pastor Emeritus Theodore T. Cutler, Sr., her children Pastor Theodore T. Cutler, Jr. (First Lady Tanya Cutler), Evangelist Dominic D. Cutler (Sister Danielle Cutler), Pastor Terence Cutler (First Lady Anitra Cutler), Missionary Petrina Branch (Bishop Joseph Branch, Jr.), two siblings; Reverend Andrew S. Chapman and Cora Ann Chapman, grandchildren: Thaddius, Jasmine, Steven, Rose, Faith, Wesley, Teddy, Jared, Alex, Naomi, Demetria, Kameron, Raven and Anthony and a host of nieces and nephews.
