Shirley Lassiter Evans

April 9, 1955 - April 4, 2022

Shirley L. Evans was born to the late Raymond Lassiter Sr. and Alease Lassiter on April 9, 1955, in Portsmouth, VA. On April 4, 2022, at 12:59PM Shirley departed her from earthly home and transitioned to eternal rest. Shirley Attended I. C. Norcom High School for 3 years and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. Shirley continued her education at Keys Business College. Shirley has been employed at General Electric better known as G. E. She later worked at Brent Lox Nursing Home, Mary View Nursing Care Center and then was employed at First Data then she later became a Supervisor at the Hampton Roads Regional Jail before retiring in 2018. Shirley was a wonderful wife to Donald Evans and a loving mother to their one and only child DeMarcus Donte’ Lassiter. She was preceded in death by one sister Erma Lassiter Freeman of California; three brothers, Raymond “jimmy” Lassiter Jr. of Conway, North Carolina; George “Lee House” Lassiter and John Lassiter both of Portsmouth, VA She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Donald Evans; her only son DeMarcus Donte’ Lassiter of Portsmouth, VA; two sisters Dorothy “Dottie” Lassiter of Portsmouth, VA and Gloria McCullum of Fort Washington, Maryland; two brothers Paul Lassiter (Barbara) of Alberta, VA and Willie Lassiter (Mary) of California and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws and special friends.
