Naomi Margaret Lassiter Howell, Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, First Lady, Family Matriarch, Church Mother, Confidante and Friend...fulfilling her God given purpose in this life, transitioned to greater Glory on Saturday morning, May 28, 2022. This is her story...this is her song... Naomi was born the 5th of 7 children to Sarah & Rufus Lassiter of Gates County, North Carolina on January 6, 1925. Predeceased by her husband, Reverend Charlie G. Howell, Sr. in March 2007, Naomi was a Beloved Wife; quiet, yet dynamic, who served as a prayer warrior, and a spiritual force beside him for 64 years, modeling the scripture...'worthy wife is a crown for her husband' (Prov 12:4) Naomi was the birth mother of 5...3 who survived. Carolyn, Charlie, Jr. & Valerie were placed in her care, her purpose to nurture, strengthen, protect and guide. Carolyn transitioned to Glory in August 2017. Naomi was a mother to many, bread to the needy, and a source of counsel to those who called. She was also predeceased by one grandson, David Howell. She is woefully missed. Naomi leaves to cherish her memory: a daughter, Valerie Alston, a son, Charlie Howell, Jr.; four grandchildren, Enetria Hector (Joseph, Sr.), Earl Allmond, Jr., Tanaya Thompson, Shauneequa Alston; three great grandchildren, Delores Hector, Joseph Hector, Jr., Joanna Taylor; one great great grandchild, Destiny Donelson; one godson, Reverend Vernon Smith as well as a host of nieces, nephews and favored friends.
