He was preceeded in death by his parents, sister Debby and nephew Paul. Mike served in the United States Navy. He joined the Indpls Police Department in 1971, retiring in 1994. In his younger years Mike played rugby and ran marathons. In his retirement he enjoyed playing golf. He and Susie spent many wonderful times on their favorite course. He also enjoyed watching sports...track and field being a favorite. Mike worked with mentally-challenged adults in a camp setting. This was his favorite ministry that the entire family participated in as he and Susie's children were growing up. Tent camping was also a family affair that Mike enjoyed so very much. Mike loved his role as husband, dad, stepdad, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He would tell you his most rewarding role was as a faithful follower and servant of his Lord Jesus Christ. He served as Elder/Lay Minister for many years at his church in Indpls. He enjoyed visiting and serving folks who were homebound. Mike will be missed by all and remembered always. A memorial service will take place at Moyock Baptist Church, 123 Oak Street, Moyock, NC, 27958 on March 20, 2022 at 2 pm. A memorial in Indpls will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Mike's favorite ministry serving mentally-challenged adults: Connection Ministries PO Box 29495, Indpls, IN 46229 or online at connection-ministries.org.
