October 28, 1956 - December 12, 2020
Mr. Mark Anthony Hardy, Sr. entered into his heavenly home, where he is now present with the Lord on Saturday, December 12, 2020. Mark was born on October 28, 1956, to the Late Maxie Hardy and the late Audrey Odell Jefferson Hardy. He was the baby of nine children. Mark was educated in the Isle of Wight Public School System. Mark began his Christian journey at First Gravel Hill Baptist Church, where he was baptized and acknowledged the Lord as His Savior. Mark recently rededicated His life to Christ, and we know he is now rejoicing with the Angels. Mark was united in holy matrimony on June 19, 1974, to his one and only true love, Deborah Jones Hardy. It was rare that you would see one without the other. From this union, two children were born, Sheniqua Hardy and Mark Hardy, Jr. Mark loved his family dearly. Mark was employed as a long-distance truck driver for over 30 years. He loved to drive trucks and often called his family members or stopped by their houses as he was going in and out of town. You would often find Mark and his brother McDaniel (Dolly) out on the road together. They were known as the Red-devil (Mark) and the Brass-monkey (Dolly). Everyone knew Mark’s handle and often looked for him on the radio way back during the CB days. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Mark is part of a close-knit family. He would often talk with all his brothers and sisters and always end the conversation with “I Love You.” Mark was predeceased by his parents Maxie and Audrey Hardy and a brother Harold “Pat” Hardy, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory forever, the love of his life, his wife, Deborah Hardy; two children: Sheniqua Hardy of Hampton, VA, and Mark Hardy, Jr. of Atlanta, GA.; Grandchildren: Treyviyon Covington of Atlanta, Ga and Kimora Brown of the home; Brothers: Jerry Hardy (Ethel), McDaniel Hardy (Barbara); Sisters: Audrey Hall (Curtis), Carolyn Hall (Paul), Theresa Hall, Marquetta Martin and Vanessa Tynes (James); and Sister-in-law Peggy Jones. He further leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him and will miss him greatly.
