Ja’Nasia “Nasia” MaShay Miller, was born on December 12, 2000 in Salisbury Maryland to Letitia (Baker) Council. She went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 25, 2021. Ja’Nasia received her education in public schools of Portsmouth (Kindergarten-4th grade) Chesapeake Public Schools (5th-12th grade) and was a graduated from Western Branch High c/o 2019. She played softball for parks and recreation once she got in high school Nasia joined the Track & Field team. She worked in the fast-food industry up until her car accident (August 15, 2019). Ja’Nasia had plans on joining the military personnel prior to her accident. On August 15, 2019 Nasia’s life was “Declared Endless but God’s Not Finished”!! That’s when she was diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury. Ja’Nasia’s personality was peculiar. Nasia was a fun, bold, and brave young lady. Her smile would bring light in the room, and a laugh that will be remembered forever by many. Nasia loved to attend family gatherings and hang out with her friends in her free time. Ja’Nasia will be deeply missed by many especially her Mom & Dad. During her recovery & healing Ja’Nasia was cared for by her mom & dad. Her mom became her primary caregiver. Sentara Home Health care therapy department participated with her care. Special thanks to Yvette Chalmers, (Physical Therapist) & Amy Wrightson (Speech Therapist) & Elizabeth Dean (Occupational Therapist). Sheltering Arms Rehabilitation Dr. Samuel Clanton, Acquired Brain Injury Specialist & Cheryl Crawford & Dr. Vivian Mapano (Primary Care Physician). Ja’Nasia leaves to cherish her memory: parents Troy & Letitia Council, Satchell (Nina) Miller; Siblings, Devon’Tah Bunting, Jaramis Council, Zi’Kyera Council, Jordan Council, Tori & MaKayla Miller; grandparents, Claudette Lewis, Anthony (Nyoka) Baker, Yvette Council; great grandmothers Shirley Freeman & Jean Miller; uncles & aunts, Derrick(Shenita) Lewis, Gevon Major, Terrell(Alexander) Knox, Antiono Council, Nicholas(Jasmine) Jones, Zamauri Tucker,Nykia Baker & Rhonda Council; great aunts & uncles, cousins, and close friend Ke’Miya Neal. Ja’Nasia’s legacy will continue to live on through Nasia Foundation Traumatic Brain Injury Teen Survivors, founded by her mother Letitia Council.
