Freda Gary

December 6, 1960 - May 8, 2022

Freda was born on December 6, 1960, to the late Fred Gary and the late Carrie Miller Sanders in Queens, New York. Freda eventually moved to Clinton, SC with her family. After graduation from Clinton High School in 1978, Freda went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of South Carolina in 1983. After graduating with a degree in nursing, she went on to work as a registered nurse at various medical facilities in Georgia and Virginia. Freda loved riding her motorcycle, gardening, traveling, playing solitaire, and you can’t leave out her favorite, watching the Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon. She loved her sons and family dearly, and not to forget her loving dog Sasha. The word selfless is the perfect word to describe Freda. From loving to cook for her sons to always making sure everyone was taken care of, she always put other’s needs before her own. During her travels, the charming city of Charleston, SC always made her feel at ease. She is predeceased by her mother Carrie Sanders, father Fred Gary; brother Ralph Sanders Jr; sister Shirley Sanders Colden. She is survived by her sons: Purvis Collier II (Shellie) of Leesburg, GA, Joshua Collier (Andria) of Gainesville, VA, and Christian Collier (Susannah) of Augusta, GA; grandsons Cameron Collier, Alexander Collier, and Maverick Collier; granddaughters Colby Collier, Gabriella Collier, and Maddox Collier; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
