On January 23, 2022, our sovereign, God, called our mother, daughter, sister, niece, and friend Elaine Copeland, home to her eternal rest. She was born on January 5, 1957, to the late Edward Copeland and Mary Lee Jordan in Franklin, Virginia. Elaine was educated in the Portsmouth Public school system. She worked for over 20 years at National Linen Service in Portsmouth, Virginia. She loved her family and friends very dearly. You could always find her sitting in her front of her house in Swanson Homes. She was and will forever be a die-hard Washington Redskins fan. Elaine is predeceased by one sister, Berniece Wright and three brothers, Edward Copeland, Bernard Darden and Larry Darden. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Antonio Copeland, Washington, DC; three sisters, Fannie Pope, Newark, NJ, Marie Brooks, Portsmouth, VA, Carolyn Jordan, Louisville, KY; three brothers, Walter Darden, Calvin Darden and Melvin Jordan, all of Portsmouth, VA; one granddaughter, Tonay Copeland, Washington, DC; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
