Edith Eason Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Portsmouth- Edith Mae Eason, 64, of the 3800 block of Augustine Circle passed away on June 22, 2008. Edith was known to say what was on her mind to anyone she came in contact with which only caused people to fall in love with her. Her family called her ” Edie Mae” short for Edith Mae Scott Robertson Eason as her brother Bernard frequently greeted her smiling and “2-Money”. Edith was employed with General Electric for over 10 years and with the Pines Treatment Center for 20 years where she received numerous awards for her hard work and dedication. She leaves to cherish her memories mother; Gracie Ward Scott, three daughters, Crystal Robertson, Cathy Freeman (William), and Lori Brooks (Willie). Also left to cherish her memories are siblings; Bernard Scott (Loraine), Ricky Scott, Janet Eley (Dornell), Theatta Scott, Eunice Hall (Lester), Theodore Scott and Gralin Scott. She will also be missed by her grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Edith is predeceased by her father; Henry T. Scott, husband, Christopher Eason, Jr., and son Christopher Eason, III. Edith will be missed by all of those whose lives she touched especially Thaddeus Parsons and Tony Hunter. Viewing will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2008 from 2 pm until 7 pm at J. T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1080 N George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake. A life celebration service will be held 11 am on Friday, June 27, 2008 at Brighton Rock AME Zion Church, 1300 Centre Avenue, Portsmouth. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends at 3807 Georgia Court, Churchland.
