Clifford J. Jackson, Sr.

Clifford (Cliff) Joseph Jackson was born on January 26, 1941 in Convent, Louisiana, to the late James Joseph and Victoria Ferdinand Jackson. The Lord called Cliff home to glory on December 15, 2018. Cliff attended Convent Louisiana Catholic School. Shortly thereafter he married Delores Marie Smith and five children were born from this union. Cliff chose to serve his country and joined the United States Navy. He was stationed in Portsmouth, Virginia where he devoted four years of service as a machinist mate and received an honorable discharge. Cliff went on to work at the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority for over 30 years, and held the positions of Project Manager, Maintenance Supervisor and Inspection Supervisor before deciding to retire. In 2008 Cliff and Delphine Long were joined in holy matrimony. This union added two more children to the family. Because Cliff was not a man who could really retire, and possessed many talents, he took on a third career and developed his own business performing home projects. This was his true passion because he enjoyed using his hands to create, whether it was in the form of building structures, remodeling and/or painting. He also had a hobby as a collector of all things. Clifford leaves to cherish his memory. his beloved wife, Delphine Jackson and his children, Carmelita Rogers (Danni), Carlette Mendoza-Jackson, Kimberly Barnes, Trashida Long and Clifford Jackson, Jr. (Yolanda), Kevin Roberts and Terrell Long. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Chatoya Jackson, Danni Rogers, Jr., Lerondo Jones, Angelina Easley, Roque Mendoza, Christian Rogers, Kevin Roberts Jr., Domonic Long, Naomi Long and Kennedy Grace Moore; his great-grandchildren, Terrance Jackson, Damien Jackson-Stephenson, Toni Jackson-Hodges, Kamron Jones, Jaki'lah and Jayden Ferguson; one sister, Marion Jackson, five brothers, Nolan Jackson (Sylvia), Leroy Jackson, Andrew Jackson, Claudell Jackson, Don Patrick Jackson, special sister-in-law, Dorothy Smith, mother-in-law, Tessie Bonner, and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cliff was predeceased by Delores Marie Jackson (first wife), Dr. Brandon D. Rogers (grandson), Lawrence Jackson and Milton Jackson (brothers), Brenda Chube (sister) and Dalton Jackson (nephew).
