Christine F. Hudson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Christine Irene Forbes Hudson, age 67, born June 18, 1955, in Richmond, Virginia passed away, July 21, 2022. She was the second of six children born to Virgil Alexander Forbes, Sr. and Ethell Irene (Jones) Forbes. Christine was a graduate of Matoaca High School in Ettrick, Virginia, Class of 1973. She earned a Bachelor of Science in business from Virginia State College, Class of 1977. Christine married the love of her life, Marvin Hudson, on May 7, 1982. She was an avid sports enthusiast and participant. Christine liked bowling, softball, basketball, and football. She wasn’t shy about cheering for her favorite NFL team, the Washington (Redskins) Commanders. She was a board game and card playing connoisseur, enjoying Phase 10, Uno, Solitaire, Spades, Pinochle, and Bid Whist. Christine was a faithful and dedicated member of New Light Church. She served in several ministries, to wit: Ushers, Missionaries, Kitchen, and Security. For two decades, Christine also was the Financial Secretary of New Light Church. Christine worked 30 years for the federal government, as a Human Resources Specialist with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, and Human Resources Manager for the Department of Commerce NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration), retiring in 2010. She was an entrepreneur and proud owner of Christine Hudson Personal Services for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethell and Virgil A. Forbes, Sr., sister & brother-in-law, Carol Forbes Baskerville and Fred Baskerville. Christine leaves to cherish her memories her loving & devoted husband of 40 years, Marvin Hudson; daughter and son-in-law Lisa & Cardell Rountree of Portsmouth, VA; grandchildren Kashif Jovan Chapman, Jazmyn Rountree, J’Chaun Rountree, and Jaelin Rountree; and great granddaughter Kiara Kerney-Chapman; god-daughter, Zoie Boler Barrett of Chesapeake, VA; father-in-law & mother-law Albert Glenn, Sr. & Lillie Glenn of Memphis, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cynthia & David Brooks, of Chesapeake, VA and Deneen & Thomas Moore of Clinton, MD; sister Deborah Forbes, of Virginia Beach, VA; brother Virgil A. Forbes, Jr. and his partner, Mary Salley of Richmond, VA; ‘much loved sister’, Wanda Anderson, of Chesapeake, VA; brothers-in-law, Dahnaad Ahshaad of Canton, OH and Albert Glenn, Jr. of Memphis, TN; sisters-in-law, Donna Yvonne Martin of Woodstock, GA, Agatha Martin Williams of Cleveland, OH, Andree Glenn and Kathy Miller of Memphis, TN, and Sheila McVay of Alpharetta, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Phyllis & Laurence Muhammad, of Katy, TX. Christine’s nieces and nephews will esteem her prominence and motherly manifestation which are indelibly etched in their minds, to wit: Irene Abraham Baskerville, Andrew Baskerville, Nicole Strothers, Steven Forbes, Renae Forbes, Christine Forbes, Nathaniel Forbes, Dominic Moore, and Tanisha Moore; great nieces and nephews, Janessa, Kendra, Chancellor, Darius, Emmanuel, and Jayla.
