Carol F. King

On October 3, 2016, God called home our mother & grandmother, Carol Fay King. Carol fought a good battle until she no longer could fight. Carol was born to Andrew King & Clara King-Trotter on January 29, 1948. Carol was Clara's pride and joy until she was called home. Carol was not only a faithful, devoted, caring daughter but also a mother, sister, and most of all her greatest accomplishment ever, becoming "Grandma KK," officially started by her granddaughter Marquita (Keda) and years later became "Miss Thang" by her infamous great-granddaughter Ri'Cazia. Carol had many occupations in her lifetime. She did many jobs until February, 2014 when she retired from Food Lion. After her retirement, she rode around with her mother & sisters, Della & Elaine, shopping for the best sales. She enjoyed watching her granddaughter Ri'Cazia, and they both watched their shows from PBS Kids, Steve Harvey, the Price Is Right and their favorite show Maury. Carol loved to play cards with her sisters, Elaine & Theresa, but most of all her best friend Maxine Walker. Carol went aU over for a good card game & tagging along with Marquita right by her side and later My'Keisha (MeMe). If she was rolling, her granddaughter was riding shotgun. Carol's house was the party house not only for her children but her nieces, nephews, cousins and the neighborhood children. No matter where she lived, she had a house full of children that could get away with anything. Whenever Carol moved into a neighborhood best believe she welcomed many other children into her home, who became her children or grandchildren. The last one to introduce a generation to her was Ri’Cazia who also brought along senior citizens. Carol would feed the whole neighborhood with $20.00, you enter her kitchen to eat but don't touch her sweet tea. Carol was also famous for driving many different cars and never the same one more than two years. Carol had a heart of gold, the most humblest, loving, caring, hard worker and the best provider. Her heart was the weakest but the best gift she gave. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her beloved and devoted mother, Clara Trotter; daughters Valarie (Darren), Tonnette, Takeisha and beloved girls Craiesha and Courtney, sisters Elaine Wallace (Calvin) and Dellareese Trotter; Special granddaughters Marquita and MyKeisha and great-granddaughter Ri’Cazia. Special grandson Craisean, whom she stayed up with many nights; Grandsons Vincent Mills and Rasheen Jr. Special nephew Varian Jones (Vicki), a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and a special friend Hugo Grant; extended family; Maxine Walker, George Wilson, Takia Johnson, Rico Faulks, Dominique Belton. She was predeceased by her father, Andrew King, beloved sister, Theresa Jones, Son Vincent, daughter Veronica, grandsons Michael and Gregory Gilmore.
