Alknah Thomas, III
November 15, 1989 - March 9, 2022
After a long battle with chronic heart failure, Alknah Thomas III, affectionately known as “Kano” to friends and loved ones, passed away on March 9, 2022 at the age of 32. Kano was born on November 15, 1989 in Suffolk, Virginia to Alknah Thomas Jr. and Gloria Thomas. He was one of 12 children. He worked at Sonic drive-in for over 16 years where he became the General Manager. He was someone you could always count on and would give his last so that others did not have to go without. He had a big heart and was very forgiving. He was known for being funny, outspoken, loyal, and most of all, a phenomenal father. Kano loved his children more than anything in this world. His favorite thing to do was spend time with them. He loved his family, the Patriots, and his Grey Goose. Kano is survived by his four children: Amari Smith, Sumer Thomas, Alknah Thomas, Alijah Thomas, and their mother, Francis Cobbs. He has 11 siblings: Ieshia Phelps, Sherlene Faulk, Michael Faulk, Jerome Thomas, Britany Thomas, Joshua Thomas, Loren Thomas, Stephanie Thomas, Shawanda Robinson, Derius Batten, and Benjamin Batten. We’d like to give a loving thaks to his favorite cousin, Quanita Darden, his two best friends, Jireh Taylor and Lamar Thompson; his extended family; Keghan McAllister and the Dickens Family. When you think of Alknah, remember how honest and funny he was. Think about the impact he had on your life. He touched the lives of many who will carry on his memory forever. Kano, we love you always. Squares up for life. Chea
