Rosemary Poole

On June 22, 1966, the Lord smiled down on James and Plushie Moore for the thirteenth time and blessed them with another beautiful baby girl named Rosemary Ann. Baker, as she was affectionately known, was a bubbly child who was loved and cherished by her parents and siblings. Born and raised in Gary Indiana, Rosemary attended Franklin Elementary School, Bailey Middle School and graduated from Rogers High School. She also attended Tidewater Community College in Chesapeake, Virginia earning several certifications in Early Childhood Education. Her love for children and passion for teaching led her to be a pre-school teacher for several military pre-schools. Her last place of employment was the NNSY Child Development Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. She worked there for 7 years and met several co-workers with whom she became great friends. Rosemary was blessed with her 1st child Joseph Howard Hunter, from a previous union. She loved and doted on her baby boy. In 1991, Rosemary met the love of her life Anthony. After being told she wouldn’t have another child, the Lord blessed Anthony and Rosemary’s union with a baby, son Addisun. Rosemary called him her miracle baby. Rosemary was blessed to travel and live in several different countries and states. The family’s military journey brought them to Chesapeake in 2000, where they made their home. Since being here, Rosemary made many good friends who were drawn to her genuine loving spirit. She considered Carolyn and Kenneth Cooper, Gwen Vegara, Deborah Gray, Darlene Sykes and Sherry Oneal a few of her closest friends. Rosemary was diagnosed with cancer in 1999 and she fought and won that battle. She was cancer free for 15 years but the cancer returned in 2014. Rosemary was determined to beat this horrible disease again. Through many health crisis she fought hard and relied on her unwavering faith in God. Her loving and devoted husband, Anthony was right by her side fighting with her. On a bright and beautiful Sunday with her family by her side, the Lord decided that Rosemary had fought long and hard enough and He called his child home. Rosemary was predeceased by her parents James and Plushie Moore, two sisters, Larlene Moore and Odessa Smith and a brother, James Moore, Jr. Left to cherish her wonderful memory is her amazing, supportive husband, Anthony D. Poole, her most prized possessions her sons, Joseph H. Hunter and Addisun D. Poole, two stepsons, Antonio (Deona) Poole and Aaron Poole; two beautiful grandsons, Aidan and Ethen Poole; mother and father-in-law, Louise and Shirley Butler; nine brothers, Elbon (Ada) Hairston, Kary Lee Moore, Charles (Diane) Moore, Dino Moore, Earnest Moore, Irvin (Ursula) Moore, Demetrius Moore, and Marshall Moore; one sister, Ruby Gray; a special niece, Tiffany Cherry, numerous nieces and nephews, family members, best friend, Juanita Hoddard and her grandchildren
