Margaret F. Goff

In the early morning of September 07, 2020, Margaret Goff passed peacefully from this life at the age of 86. Known as Margie to her family, Marge was also referred to as a “character” and a “force of nature”. A very strong woman with a strong will, Marge presented a powerful presence wherever she went. She loved her family deeply and passionately. She would go to battle with anyone to fight for what she believed was right. She would work tirelessly for a cause that she believed in, not letting any obstacle stand in her way. Marge loved to talk and socialize with people, and was often the life of the party. If you were on her “good” side, she would do anything for you. If you were not on her good side, it was in your best interest to stay clear! Marge was born to Frank and Margaret Shelledy in Des Moines Iowa on September 03, 1934. She attended All Saints Elementary and then St. Joseph’s Academy in Des Moines. Marge also lived in Davenport Iowa, Annandale Virginia, Springfield Virginia, Raleigh North Carolina and, finally, Virginia Beach Virginia. Marge worked in various jobs and fields throughout her lifetime including government work, insurance, and real estate. Marge was heavily involved in charity endeavors with her church and local community, as well as care packages for soldiers deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Marge and her big personality will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Marge is survived by her daughter Lynn Almloff of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughter Sheri Almloff of Raleigh, North Carolina; her foster son Jeffrey Seliga of Texas; cousins, nieces and nephews, and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret Shelledy; brothers William and John Shelledy of Des Moines, and her husbands Warren L. Almloff of Des Moines Iowa, and Milton R. Goff of Roanoke Virginia. Due to Covid-19, the family is not planning any services. However, the family will not be honoring her wishes of having her ashes “flushed down the toilet”. In lieu of flowers and gifts the family requests that you would make a donation to your favorite charity in honor of Mrs. Goff.
