Hillary Wallace Cotton, Jr.

Hillary W. Cotton, Jr., affectionately known as “Hill or Hillary, Jr.” transitioned to eternal rest surrounded by his family on August 14, 2024, after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born into a large and loving family on January 4, 1977, to Mr. Hillary W. Cotton, Sr. and Mrs. Mae F. Albergottie Cotton. Predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Mr. Darnell and Mrs. Hattie Mae Watts; his paternal grandparents Mr. George and Mrs. Willie Mae Cotton; and his brother, Kenneth W. Albergottie. Hillary is survived by his children Arianna and Hillary, III; sisters Debora Albergottie Holliday (Leander), Bonita Albergottie-Pugh (Kenny), Angie Albergottie-Taylor (Renny); brothers Fred Albergottie, III (Connie), Aaron Albergottie, Daniele Albergottie, Sr. (Diana); sister-in-law Faye Albergottie; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins; best friends Jermale “Fluke” Smith, Sr., Reese Anderson, Hurley “Buck” Peebles, Grey “DJ” Simmons, Curtis Bowens, Bernard “BC” Smith, David Scott, and a host of friends. Hillary was educated in the Portsmouth Public Schools system and graduated from I.C. Norcom High School in 1995. After high school, Hillary attended Norfolk State University for a short period of time pursuing a degree in computer science. He enjoyed driving, so he decided to earn his Commercial Driving License (CDL) from Tidewater Community College. Hillary achieved his goal of obtaining his CDL and enjoyed driving big trucks. He was previously employed by Titan and Capital Trucking companies. During his short life, he enjoyed spending time with his family, playing video games and chess, listening to music, going to the casino, playing the lottery, taking rides to enjoy the scenery, taking pictures and the Dallas Cowboys. Hillary always told his family that he loved them, and they reciprocated that love to him. The Cotton and Albergottie families would like to thank Trinity Hospice Staff and the staff of J.T. Fisher Funeral Services. Special thanks to Alissa Puntel, Patricia Fitchett, Carol Brown, Kelli Sweat, Brandi Harbart, Marshe Prior, Melanie Marshall, Faith Thorne, Velencia Wallace and Melanie P. for the loving care and compassion they gave Hillary and to our family during his time on hospice and while he transitioned from his earthly life. We would also like to thank everyone for all expressions of sympathy. We pray that the Lord will comfort you during this time of sorrow and continue to bless you.
