Domonic Lamont Wicks

Domonic Lamont Wicks, affectionately known as “Wicks” by his close friends, departed this earthly life on Friday, September 20, 2024. A native of Portsmouth, Virginia, Domonic was born to Mr. and Mrs. Henderson and Renee Lynn Spruill Wicks, Jr. Domonic was a kind and gentle soul with a quiet sense of humor that often keeping others smiling. He had two favorite sports, golf and football. At one point during Domonic’s pre-teen years, he participated in a golfing camp in which a local newspaper and magazine captured him in action with famed golfer Tiger Woods assisting Domonic with his golf swing and golfing techniques. In addition to his love for the game of golf, Domonic played junior varsity football for Western Branch High School and was a die-hard LA Rams fan. Even though his favorite NFL Football team’s colors were blue and gold, Domonic’s personal favorite colors were red and black. The most cherished treasures and accomplishments in the life of Domonic were his two beautiful children, his daughter E’Niyaah Briana Renee Wicks and his son, Drayden Lavar Cassell. There was no doubt in his heart, mind, and soul that those two beautiful children completed him and were the greatest accomplishments of his life. They brought him joy, and the strength that he needed and held on to during his battle with an illness. He was a selfless young man who led with love, was kind to all, and most importantly humble—a gentle giant who battled fearlessly for nine years with his illness like the strong warrior that he was. Amazingly, he was born on a Friday on his uncle Steve’s birthday and passed on to Glory and Victory on a Friday on his uncle Craig’s birthday. He had a very loving and close tie with his beloved sister, Nicole Renee Waters who, along with their mother Renee, was one of the last earthly voices Domonic was blessed to hear just before receiving his wings for his entrance into God’s Kingdom and Glory. His multitude of devoted friends were instrumental in providing love, compassion, and empathy, and always bringing him a bottle of Pine Sol. Domonic leaves to cherish his memory: his mother and father Renee and Henderson Wicks, a daughter E’Niyaah Briana Renee Wicks, a son Drayden Lavar Cassell, a beloved sister Nicole Renee Waters, a brother Antoine Ricks, his grandmother, Ethel Loretta Avant Miller, several aunts, uncles, great aunts and great uncles, countless cousins, and a host of relatives, devoted friends, and family friends.
