Christopher Wade Alloway

Chris was born July 11, 1954, in Chandler AZ. He passed away in Hampton VA, June 24, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his children Melissa Alloway and Katherine Alloway-Roof, as well as his grandchildren Arika Alloway, Karlel Armstrong and Kalyse Phillips and his Great grandchildren Ny’omi Bennafield and Paul Anthony Young Jr. He is also survived by his siblings Pamela Anderson (Thomas), Michael Alloway (Anita), SunCha Kim Gager, John Alloway and Barbara Alloway. He also has many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Nelson Wade Alloway, his mother Rita Zaragoza Alloway, his son Christopher Wade Alloway Jr. and his sister Sharon Alloway-Bell He was a master carpenter by trade and most recently a concrete foreman with Assured Construction. He was admired and respected by his coworkers for his vast knowledge of the construction industry. There was not anything he could not build, and he always took immense pride in all his projects be it personal or professional. Chris had lots of interests and loved to collect lots of things such as models of muscle cars, motorcycles and army helicopters, DVD's and CD’s, Star Wars and Star Trek everything! As a young boy he loved Star Trek and is most prized collectible was his U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701. As an adult he was a fan of the Beatles and John Lennon. He had a collection of their memorabilia to include albums, photos, and a bust of John Lennon. He was proud of his Mexican and Native American heritage and displayed it proudly with a collection of photos of famous Native Americans. He also enjoyed showing his grandchildren how to make homemade Mexican dishes that he learned from his mother, one of them being flour tortillas. Chris will be deeply missed by so many. This truly leaves a hole in the hearts of family, friends, and coworkers. The family would like to thank Assured Construction for their understanding and support during this difficult time. Also, the team of nurses and doctors at Sentara CarePlex Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of Chris in his last days. At Chris’ request there will not be a service. He was not one for attention. There will be an interment service at a later date where he will be honored along with this son and sister.
