Christine L. Williams

Christine Lenora Robinson Williams, 75, of Chesapeake, Virginia, was called home to eternal rest on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Christine was born on August 20, 1950, in Portsmouth, Virginia, to the late John H. Robinson, Sr. and Lucy M. Hinton Robinson. She was the eldest of five children. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at Union Bethel Baptist Church. Later in life, she became a devoted member of Jesus Church of Deliverance in Chesapeake VA. Christine was educated in the Portsmouth Public School System and graduated from Churchland High School in 1968. Following high school, she attended Virginia State University for two years. She began her professional career with General Electric before joining the United States Postal Service, where she faithfully served for more than 20 years until her retirement. Christine was highly respected and well-liked by her colleagues. Her warm smile could light up any room, and her kind spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Christine was united in marriage to the late Timothy Williams, Jr. From this union, they were blessed with two beloved sons, Timothy Williams III and Daryl M. Williams. Following retirement, Christine dedicated herself to providing home healthcare services to senior citizens. She had a genuine passion for caring for the elderly and ensuring they felt valued, loved, and respected. Through crafts, companionship, and daily assistance, she helped many maintain their dignity and independence. Christine possessed a generous heart and a servant’s spirit. If someone was hungry, she fed them. If someone was in need, she did everything within her power to help. She believed in offering a hand up rather than a handout and was always eager to encourage others while sharing the goodness and faithfulness of God. While serving others brought her great joy, nothing was more important to Christine than her family. Family was truly her greatest treasure. She loved hosting gatherings, preparing meals, and spending quality time with her siblings, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. An avid reader and lifelong learner, Christine regularly attended seminars and health expos to stay informed about elder care and wellness. She also enjoyed attending cultural festivals, music performances, and theater events, as well as spending time at the Senior Station. Known for her competitive spirit and love of card games, she was an exceptional Spades player and was always ready to “run a Boston” on anyone willing to challenge her. Christine leaves to cherish her precious memory her two sons, Timothy Williams III of DeLand, Florida, and Daryl M. Williams (Lareefah) of Norfolk, Virginia; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren: Tiffany Smallwood (Alonzo), children Alona and Alonzo, Jr.; Jakeem Simmons (Theresa), children Alaina, Karmen, and Kleo; Tierra Williams, children Harmony and Destiny; Timothy Williams IV, children Ariah and Syaire; Shaylin Williams, children Arlo and Avi; Tamia Williams; Breyon Cook; and Precious Cook, children Jay, Daloni, and Leonna. Honorary grandchildren: Timothy Thompson; Zachariah Thompson; and Christopher Thompson. She is also survived by her four brothers: John Robinson, Jr., Frank Robinson, Brandon Robinson, and Arthur Robinson (Gladys), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. She will always be in our hearts. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
