Bishop Ronald Thaddeus Jones

Proverbs 3:5-6 A TIME TO BE BORN ON NOV 23, 2024, our beloved brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend, Ronald (Ron) Thaddeus Jones, transitioned from earth to heaven after 77 years of life. He was born on March 13, 1947 to the late Raymond and Catherine T. Jones in Norfolk, Va. He was sibling to Raymond Jones, Jr., Kathryn J. Powell and Edris J. Pruden. A TIME TO LOVE In 1982, Ron married Loretta Young Jones. They were married 42 wonderful years until the Lord called her home on April 26, 2024.Together they served God and were blessed to establish The Firm Foundation Worship Center. A TIME TO EDUCATE Ron attended Norfolk Public Schools, graduating in 1965 from Booker T. Washington High School. He attended Norfolk State University majoring in Fine Arts. A TIME TO WORK Ron was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War and served faithfully for nine years in Fort Lee VA, Fort Benning GA, Germany and Fort Eustis, VA. Ron entered civilian service and retired after 25 years from The Naval Supply Center as a Supervisory Supply Specialist. A TIME TO HONOR GOD Ron was a God fearing man whose life was a reflection of Psalm 37:23 “The steps of a good man, are ordered by the Lord, and he delighteth in His way.” He was a faithful, dedicated and supportive member of New Light Baptist Church, Chesapeake under Rev Ajack Scott and Dr. Charles Green. He served as Sunday School Superintendant until he and Loretta were led and blessed by God to establish The Firm Foundation Worship Center. His favorite scriptures were the Psalms. You could go into his hospital room and find him reading in Psalms. A TIME TO CHERISH Those who will cherish his loving memory include his daughters Pamela M. Jones of Portsmouth, Rhonda J.(Terry) Minor of Ellicott City, MD, his son Ronald (Timitra) James of Portsmouth, a special son Zachary Brown and a special great nephew Victor Jones, Jr., grandchildren Amani Phillips, Tia James, Elijah James, Marc Minor, Londyn Minor, uncle Joseph Thornton, aunt Rose T. Meacham, god children Amariah Wright, Shaunita Lassiter, Rashawn Lassiter, devoted long-time friend Wanda Anderson, a host of in laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including Apostle Lloyd and Prophetess Carlla Jenkins and his beloved Firm Foundation Worship Center Family. Ron was predeceased by his parents, numerous aunts and uncles and the love of his life Loretta.
