Barney Hall

On Tuesday evening April 12, 2016 at 5:28 pm, Barney Jerome Hall, slipped peacefully away to be at home with the Lord. Barney was born on March 27, 1958 in Keysville, Virginia to Frank S. Hall and Deleva G. Hall. Barney was the second of two children. The family moved to Norfolk, Virginia and he joined Norfolk United Methodist Church at an early age and in his later years he became a member of Mount Sinai Church in Portsmouth, Virginia under the leadership of Pastor Richie Sessoms, Sr. Barney attended school in Norfolk and graduated from Granby High School. Barney continued his studies at Salisbury University in Maryland, after which he joined the United States Navy and served his country faithfully for ten years.After completing his tour of duty in the Navy, Barney was employed on the staff of the Norfolk Sheriff’s Department and worked for a long time in the Transportation Department. Barney also did further studies at Tidewater Community College where he received a certificate for Heating & Air Conditioning and a certificate for his CDL license. He leaves to cherish his memory: his father and mother, Frank S. Hall Sr. & Deleva G.Hall; his brother, Frank “Frankie” Hall Jr; two daughters, Candice Marie Hall and Lauryn Tangai Hall; step daughters, Kimberly Bagby and Tameica Bagby Razor and their children, Tre’Quane Bagby , Corey PacKer Jr, Jahlil Bagby, PaCorya PacKer, JahKia Bagby, JahKeria Bagby; one grandson Delvon D. Moore Jr. who was very precious to him and the love of his heart; four aunts, Lyla Whitehead and Shirley Carrington of Richmond, VA, Iliga C. Gregory of Alexandria, VA, and Mary Ann Townsend of Keysville, VA; four uncles, Claude Carrington of Philadelphia, PA, James Carrington (Florence) of Richmond, VA, Harold Carrington (Jane) of Topeka, KS and Perry Carrington (Alejia) of Farmville, VA; first cousins, Gail Brown, Bobby Lee Whitehead, Monica Whitehead, Leroy Carrington, Michael Carrington, Douglas Hooks, Linda Lester, Judge Keith Gregory, Wanda Gregory, Lisa Williams, Atty. Kenya Gregory, April St John, Bridgette Walker, Shena King, Shaun Sampson, Juan Carrington, James Carrington, Jr, Tashyah Carrington, Andre Carrington, Damien Carrington, Anthony Carrington, Shelia Coleman, Jeannie Bethea, Theresa Townsend Scott, LTC Howard Edward Townsend III (Juanita), Dr. Brenda S.
