William Thomas Brown Sr.

William Thomas Brown, affectionately known as "Tee," was born on October 22, 1947. He was the second often children born to the late Edward G. Brown and Viola K Brown. Tee suddenly and silently slipped away to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at the age of 68. Born and raised on "Military Highway", Tee graduated from Crestwood High School in 1965. He continued his education and graduated from Norfolk State University, and supported the "Green and Gold" throughout the years, attending many football and basketball games. Tee earned his work ethic as a child as he assisted his father in his store. As a young man, Tee obediently answered the call when he was drafted into the United States Army, faithfully serving his country, including a tour in Vietnam. Blessed by God to return home, he worked at the Naval Air Station and retired after 28 years of service. In 1969, Tee married .the love of his life, Linda Carol Irvin. From this union two children were born, William T. Brown Jr. and Linnette D. Brown. Always at his side, Linda could often be heard lovingly calling him "Honey" or "Tee Brown," and the grandchildren called him "Ye- Ye". He was a devoted son: husband, father: uncle and grandfather. He worked untiringly to care for his father in his later years. Even though he wanted to be tough, he was really a marshmallow when it came to his family. Tee was a very private man that had a passion for race cars. A pleasant way he was able to reward himself for his dedicated work was driving to his favorite spot with his family to Dover, Delaware. With two brothers, one a die-hard Cowboys fan and the other a die-hard Redskin fan, he stood proudly with his son as an Oakland Raiders fan. Left to cherish his memories are: his dedicated wife of 47 years, Linda C. Brown; his son, William T. Brown Jr., his daughter, Linnette D.· Brown: three grandchildren that he loved endlessly Jaquan, Janiya, and Jamauri Brown; two brothers, Roy Brown (Regina) and Ray Brown; five sisters, LaVera Smith, Joyce Brown, Gloria Jones, Glenda Jarrett(Howard), and Elaine Burrell (Gordon); His only living aunt, Virginia Hailes; His in-laws James Irvin (Barbara), Kenneth Irvin', Harry Irvin (Dianna) and Edith Irvin; his best friends James Veal and Joseph Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends- He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Viola Brown, his brother Edward "Leon" Brown, and his sister Zelma Wiggins. William Thomas Brown was loved by everyone. He never met a stranger, and there's nothing he wouldn't do for 'others, especially his darling wife and children.
