Ethel McKeithan Clark

Ethel McKeithan Clark was born on April 5, 1919 in Dunn North Carolina, and was the youngest child of Willie and Julia Breece McKeithan. After graduating High School, Ethel moved to Philadelphia, PA to live with her older Sister, Luberta and to seek gainful employment. She found that her niche was cleaning, and she enjoyed many years in the Maid Service for several wonderful employers…Dr. Shapiro, The Bassett Family, Mrs. Margaret Ferrin, just to name a few…All of her employers loved her as family, and their families kept in contact with Ethel throughout the years, sending her birthday, Holiday greetings and phone calls often…just to say hello. She met James Clark, whom she affectionately called “Baby” and they married and raised his two children, “Patsy” and “Skipper”. While Aunt Ethel had no children of her own, she was blessed with Nieces and Nephews who readily spoiled and catered to her every need before and after Uncle Jimmy transitioned. They both were members and attended Camphor Memorial Methodist Church in Philadelphia. Ethel's closest friend Shirley Elder was the best friend ever!!! Shirley made sure that their affairs were always taken care of and she kept meticulous records while communicating constantly with family and ensuring Dr. Appointments were kept and basic needs were met. We love and appreciate Shirl so much…… More than ten years ago, Ethel moved to Chesapeake, VA to be closer to Family, and boy did she have FUN!!! She had her first Birthday Party at the young age of Ninety and even went on her first Cruise at the age of Ninety Two, … she shopped, attended every family gathering and was always the life of the party! We will miss Aunt Ethel, however, we are blessed to have some awesome memories that will keep us smiling for years to come… She leaves behind to cherish her memory; her step-children Bruce Clark, and Patsy Clark. Her Niece with whom she lived, and was her caretaker, C. Yvonne Holliday-Parker, Other nieces; Beverly Holliday Nobles, Vivian Austin (M. Bernard), Lauren Hester, Micah Haymer, Krystal Nobles, Rose Wallace (George), Yvonne Quiller (Willie Jr.), Marcia Haynes (Tommy). Cousin Lossinea Brown (Danny) Nephews; Robert Haymer (Jerdeane, deceased),Geoffrey Holliday (Latoya), Gregory Holliday (Annette), Alan Bethea (Denise), Michael Haymer (Monica), Andrew “Butch” Holliday, Timothy Haymer, George Holliday, Jr. (Phyllis), Reginald Holliday (Niesha)
