Andre Jauan Snead

Awesome son, wonderful grandson, best big brother, great nephew, cool cousin, supportive friend; our beloved Andre Jauan Snead, affectionately called "Dre," passed away on December 9, 2017 in Norfolk, Virginia. Dre was loved by everyone and he loved everyone. He was full of life, caring and kind. He was special to all of us. He loved his family very much and we will surely miss him. Andre was born on May 29, 1996 in Chesapeake, Virginia. In his 21 years on earth, he touched many lives with his sense of humor and contagious smile. He was quick to say "I love you" to his family and to lend a helping hand wherever needed. Dre was saving his money and looking forward to buying a car - a black mustang. In his early years, Andre attended Western Branch Middle School where he ran track and also played basketball and football. He graduated from Western Branch High School in 2014. He began working at Food Lion in Portsmouth in September, 2014. Dre was a faithful employee until his time of passing. He was an artist and enjoyed listening to rap music and hanging out with his friends (especially in the back yard at his grandma and papa's house). He loved pizza and could eat it every day! Andre leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Amanda Snead (Derrick); father, Joshua Ward; two brothers Jaylen and Maleek Snead; and one sister, Amia. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Willie and Ruby Baker-Snead; paternal grandparents, Rodney and Anne Marie Ward; and his great-grandmother, Antoinette Lundgren. Memories will forever be in the hearts of his maternal aunt and uncles: Alyson Snead (Virginia Beach), Lonnie Snead (Arnissa) (Maryland), David Snead (Veronica) (Virginia Beach) and Kodel Snead (Texas). His paternal aunt and uncle: Danielle Ward (Portsmouth) and Shawn Ward (Portsmouth); and a very special cousin, Brittni Law (Portsmouth). In addition, his maternal great aunt and uncles: Edith Copeland, Nathaniel Baker, Miles Baker (Jean), George Baker (Bessie), Dossie Baker (Catherine), Isiaah Baker (Carolyn), Walter Baker (Ella). Paternal great aunt and uncles: Shelby Quamiley (James), Matthew Lundgren (Jennifer), Kevin Lundgren (Pat), and Mack Ward (Valerie), a very great number of first, second, third and fourth generation of cousins and a host of friends.
