Early Monday morning, July 26, 2010, the Eternal Loving Father picked a beautiful flower and brought to an earthly close the life of our dear daughter, mother, grandaughter, sister, godmother, aunt, niece, cousin, and true friend, Shelby Nicole Felton.
Shelby was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia to William McKinley, Jr., and Linda Maria Felton-Lane. She attended Mt. Bethel Baptist Church where she gave her life to the Lord and learned to develop her relationship with Him. In 1993 she graduated from First Colonial High School and continued her education at ECPI in Virginia Beach, majoring in Health Information Systems. For thirteen years she worked with Coleman and Associates, a firm contracted to Verizon, where she served as a customer service representative and finally as a retention building representative supervisor.
Shelby was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Marie Virginia and James Edward Felton, and her paternal grandfather, William McKinley Tyler, Sr.
Shelby leaves to cherish her wonderful memories, her grandmother, Corine Tyler; her father William McKinley Tyler, Jr.; her mother Linda Maria Felton-Lane and stepfather David Wilson; three children, Jahmane Markee Walker (17), Kendalyn Dajahnae Felton (13), and Jayden Bernard McCants (8); four siblings, William McKinley Dozier, Tonya Rene Felton, Anthony Jerome Coley, Jr., and Latrice Jones; four uncles, Roland Perry, Allen Clark, Sr., Jesse Tyler, and Vernon Lee Tyler; eight aunts, Queen Esther Felton, Patricia Riddick, Carolyn Barnes, Vivian Parker, Patricia Ann Morrow, Juanita Weiss, Sharon Celestine Cason, and Barbara Ann Davis;a loving and devoted second mother, Elois Sexton; a beloved, supportive fiance, Matthew Owens, a host of precious cousins, relatives, and friends.
