Portsmouth - Audrey H. Harris, 74, of the 1700 block of Hodges Ferry Road, died on May 14, 2010. She was born in Norfolk County, VA on May 8, 1936. Mrs. Harris graduated from the Class of 1953 of I. C. Norcom High School. She was a grocery store owner for many years. She was a member of the female Usher Board #2 and Stewardess Board at Emanuel AME Church in Portsmouth.
Mrs. Harris was married to the late James A. Harris. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lenze Hollimon (Darnell); three sons, James A. Harris, Jr., Michael J. Harris (Gwen P.) and David A. Harris; two sisters, two brothers, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many cherished relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at J.T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1080 N. George Washington Highway, Chesapeake. A life celebration service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Emanuel AME Church, Portsmouth. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. J. T. Fisher Funeral Services will handle the final care arrangements.
