Suffolk-Maryland W. Johnson, of the 200 block of Constance Road, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was employed as a Senior Budget Analyst with the Department of Defense for 26 years. Maryland was a member of Grove Baptist Church in Portsmouth, VA.
Maryland leaves to cherish her memories four sisters; Audrey Bursey, Carolyn Boone, Denise Ward-Clark (Booker) and Cindy Outley(Dexter); five brothers, Willie E. Ward, Kent Ward (Helen), Gregory Ward, Keith Ward and Paul Ward. Also left to cherish her memories are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 4 pm until 7pm at J. T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1080 N George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake, VA. A life celebration service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Little Grove Baptist Church, 6320 Towne Point Road, Suffolk with Pastor Ralph Richardson, III officiating. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Garden, Suffolk. The family has entrusted J. T. Fisher Funeral Services to handle the final care arrangements.
