Portsmouth - On Monday, February 1, 2010, the gates of heaven opened for our beloved father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and “husband” Linwood N. Jones(Buck). He traded in his sickness and pain for the joy of being with our Lord. He was predeceased by his parents, Linwood and Pettroner Jones Sr.,a sister, Ida Mae Jordan and a brother, Tyrese Jones. He was born September 9, 1929, in Norfolk County, VA. Linwood received his early education in the Norfolk County Public Schools.
He was employed as a Merchant Seaman for 35 years and retired in 1984. Linwood accepted Christ at an early age. He joined the Pentecostal Holiness Church and later joined Grove Baptist Church where he was a faithful member until a sudden turn in health.
Throughout Linwood’s illness, he never complained! He was best known for his funny conversations, kind nature, and loving spirit. All who knew him will miss Linwood’s handsome smile and passion for helping others.
