PORTSMOUTH – Virginia Brown, 92, of the 2200 block of Des Moines Ave, passed away December 22, 2009 in her home. She was a member of Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, where she was the Supervisor of the Usher Board, Senior Choir, and Mother of the Church. Left to cherish her memories are two daughters, Gloria Rayner (Richard) and Rosa Miller both of Portsmouth; one son, Walter Brown (Mary) of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Ida Rodgers of Suffolk; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 29 from 4 pm until 7 pm at J. T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1080 N George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake. A life celebration service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 11 am at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 2714 Frederick Blvd, Portsmouth with Bishop Curtis Edmonds, Sr. officiating. Interment will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. The family has entrusted J. T. Fisher Funeral Services to handle the final care arrangements.
